Enabling works is a generic description for site preparation works that might take place prior to work under the main construction contract.
These can be carried out whilst the full design and main appointments to project are still being established.
It may be clearing the whole site ready for the ground works and utilities to be installed or it could be exposing steels and foundations to prepare for structural surveys and material degradation assessments.
